Socks look simple and are surprisingly hard to preview. A logo on a flat template tells nobody how it reads on a leg.
On a 3D sock the customer sees the logo wrap round the calf and the stripe line up with the cuff. Knitting needs its own kind of instruction, so the order lists each colour and where it goes.
