About

We got tired
of redrawing
the artwork

FlyScroll is built by people who work with a customizer platform in production every day, and who spend a good part of that day turning what a customer configured into something a factory can actually run.

The 3D is the part everyone demos. It is also the part that is broadly solved. What is not solved is everything either side of it: authoring a second and a fifth product without a developer, holding a price nobody can tamper with, keeping four brands from drifting apart, and producing a file that goes to a machine rather than to somebody's inbox.

So that is what we built around. The customizer is the visible half. The other half is a model of what a product is made of, a server that owns the money, and a production recipe that speaks millimetres because that is what the real product is measured in.

How we build

Three things
we won't
trade away

These are not values on a wall. Each one is a decision that has already cost us something to keep.

Authored, not scripted

Configurators usually get rich the same way: somebody writes JavaScript per product line, then maintains it forever. We put that expressiveness into the model instead, as layers, groups and rules, so the fifth product costs about what the first one did.

The price is the server's

Anything a browser can compute, a browser can change. Totals are computed on our side, signed over the design they came from, and re-verified when the order lands.

Finish at the factory

A customizer that ends at the order confirmation has handed the hard part back to a human with a screenshot. We would rather ship the canvas, the colour mode and the job sheet.

Where we are

Early,
and saying so

The platform is live and in production: authoring, the customizer, saved and shared designs, signed pricing, the Shopify app, and the production output, from job sheets to machine files. There's no self-serve sign-up while we onboard the first makers by hand.

You won't find customer logos or numbers on this site, because we don't have any we could show honestly yet. When we do, they will be real.

The fastest way to lose a manufacturer's trust is to promise an output you do not have.

Put your product on the stage

Bring a model, or bring the product and some photographs. We'll walk you through what a customizer for it looks like, and tell you honestly what it takes to get there.

There is no self-serve sign-up yet: we set the account up with you, and go through your product before you commit to anything.
