An order is never lost to an outage
A finished journey is written down before anything is forwarded. If the place it is going to is down, the order waits. It does not vanish.
Production
Most customizers end at the order confirmation. That is exactly where the expensive part starts: somebody redrawing artwork by hand, at the wrong size, in the wrong colour mode, from a screenshot.
Job sheet

The print process for a product does not change from order to order, so it is authored against the product, once: the canvas, the steps in the order they run, and the formats that come out.
Every order against that product then walks the same path. When you improve the recipe, you improve every order that follows. There's no per-order setup to get wrong.
Why millimetres
A print area dragged onto the model has a real size on the real product. Authoring the canvas in the same units means the numbers carry straight across instead of being converted by hand, and raising the resolution later re-renders everything sharper rather than moving it.
A finished journey is written down before anything is forwarded. If the place it is going to is down, the order waits. It does not vanish.
A summary of an order tells you a logo was uploaded. Production needs the file itself, so the design behind the order keeps it, at the resolution it arrived in.
Our own embroidery engine turns the approved mark into a DST the machine runs, thread colours in order, from the same design as the job sheet.

Bring the artwork request your factory sends back, or the job sheet you fill in by hand. That is the fastest way to tell whether this fits how you actually make things.
