Brands
Set it up once. Everyone under you inherits it
A company, its brands, its sub-brands and its contractors are one hierarchy. Reads flow down it. Writes stay where they were made.
In production, and enforced server side on every read and every write.
Most brands don't have one catalogue. They have a retail line, a team line, a pro shop and a contractor or two. Give it a season and those four have drifted into four different products that only look related.
A brand here opens its parent's templates, palettes and materials as if they were its own, and it can't save over them. To differ, it overrides. A palette, a price, a step, an element switched off. Whatever it doesn't touch keeps following the parent, so an improvement made upstream reaches every brand that never thought to ask for it.
Roles, permissions and invitations follow the same hierarchy. You can hand a contractor one template and nothing else. They see the product without seeing the company.
What you get
- Reads walk up. A brand sees its own things, plus everything its ancestors own.
- Writes stay put. Opening a parent's template doesn't let you save over it.
- Overrides are surgical. Change the palette, keep the journey. Change a price, keep the palette.
- Scoped people. Roles and invitations per organization, administered from the parent.
