The whole package
Built for the products that defeat the rest
A t-shirt with a print area is a demo. A fielder's glove with twenty colourable parts, fourteen web styles and three leathers is a business, and that's the case this platform was designed against.
In production. The glove and the team bag are the two cases the engine was built to express.
Most customizers fall over in the same place. The product stops being one product. Every web style turns into its own SKU, every colour combination into another image somebody has to render, and by the end of a season nobody can tell you what is actually orderable.
Here a part stays a part. Options that change the shape switch pieces of the model on and off. Options that change the surface swap what a piece is made of. Rules decide which combinations get offered at all, so the option space stays something you can describe out loud.
We build against two worked examples. One is a glove: twenty independently coloured parts over a shared palette, three leathers, fourteen webs. The other is a team bag, where a name and a number typed once show up in several places at once, each at the size that spot really is, under a layout you can switch.
What you get
- Parts, not variants. Twenty colourable parts means twenty controls on one model. Not twenty products.
- Shape options. A long or short cuff, a web style, a lining. Pieces of the model switched as a group.
- Rules that hold. A combination you can't make is a combination the shopper never sees.
- Shared palettes. Bake the surface detail once, tint it parametrically, and every colourway comes free.
